  • How will you define the type of work that you've been taking up till now ?

Of course, in real life that intensity is there in me, but I am not intense and serious as much as people think. But co-incidentally, such films of mine have come, where that intensity is there. And in the Surroor mould, it is definitely the intensity that works. But in the future, will also do a good comedy, and will also try to do light-hearted roles. I want to do very less work in terms of my music because to maintain the track record, like my hits in the last three years, less but good work and more hard work is essential. Similarly, even in acting doing more than one film at a time is difficult because of the look, character, pre-production, designing. I want to put more effort so that I fulfill the expectations, And at this point in time, I have worked so much that now in a year, I want to do one film or so as an actor, about one film as a composer, 3-4 songs as a singer, about one reality show, live shows, so I wouldn't want to work more than that.

  • How will you define your journey in the industry ?

I admit my journey as an actor is not a regular one. I am not coming through the regular route. It's not a journey of a regular actor. Before becoming a music composer, I worked as a serial producer. I also got success as a singer. For me, it is important as a performer to end the debate whether I should act in films or not. People have different points of view about my acting, which I appreciate. Some of my films have worked and some haven't. I saw ups and down in my journey and I have tried to reinvent myself because I believe that every actor is in search of one magical Friday.

  • Why do you think there is a need coming to create the remixes of old songs for the new movies ?

Remixes are coming because new composers somewhere are not as sure and they are not guaranteeing to give you a song to gamble on, and if that doesn’t work then you get the option to not work with them in the future. So if that one song does well then they will start believing in the composers. But today composers are so talented, but still are looking for approval, what the other person wants. New composers need to be very sure and not work for approval otherwise they will end up becoming background music composers.

  • What's your opinion on the new versions of the old bollywood songs that are being made these days ?

When music doesn’t do well before the release of the film then people will go with recall value which comes with recreation and that is why more and more songs are going to be recreated till the time composers decide they will give super hit songs before the release and they will have to compel the companies. The companies are only looking for success which they are right because they are spending money. How do they get that? If they do not get content before the release then they will immediately go for a remix which has a recall value and that is why this is happening.

  • How do you take criticism on your music as usually people comment about your nasal singing ?

I was always trolled for having a ‘nasal voice’. When one becomes a superstar, they garner all sorts of attention. People need to take negative reactions positively too since that is the only way to deal with it. Recalling the time back in 2006 when I was trolled mercilessly, I was upset that people called me “nasal”. The same year almost every song of mine was a chartbuster and even with those 50 blockbuster songs, when people still called me out, I got a bit angry. I even got comments from the legendary singer Asha Bhonsle too. Even the legendary singer-composer RD Burman sang that way. But it is also important that one needs to learn how to deal with criticism in the face and cope with it.

  • There are many rumours around where people have criticized you for acting skills and even for singing. What's your take into it ?

there is lot of debate on whether Himesh Reshammiya should act or not. Kuch logon ka manna hai ki ek musician, superstar actor nahi bann sakte aisa ek mindset hai. That was the same mindset when I was becoming a singer. Logon ko lagta tha ki ye nasal singing kitni kar lega, kitne gaane chal sakte hai. Jab koi cheez nayi hoti hai usse accept karne mein time jata hai. I think ab tak koi musician superstar actor nahi bann saka islye ye debat hai and maine bhi uss level ka kaam nahi kiya ki log mujhe yaad rakhe. I am not hurt with their comment and I will see to it that I win them over. There is a lot of hardwork which has gone through my every work.
