  • How does one find out whether or not they are getting the required nutrients?

    Hi, well you would know that through the food you eat and that food gives you the energy to sustain, increase your immunity, no digestive issues, no pain problems that's when you know that your body is balanced.

  • Is it good to take in nutrient supplements?

    Hi, if your body is deprived of any nutrients then supplements are best source. They are plant based and help you to fill up that gap much faster. Once done you can continue with foods rich in that nutrient.

  • How often do you indulge in cheat meals?

    Cheat meal is a term derived to allow yourself with foods other than regular foods which now a days is shifted to outside food. However, cheat meal can be opted for 1 meal in a week that too in moderation.

  • How does one become a nutritionist?

    Hi, one can become nutritionist or dietitian by graduating (BSc) in it and opting for higher education if needed.

  • What is healthier, rice or roti?

    Actually both are good to go. The need to be taken together in a meal to be balanced. It also depends on your body type and geographical location too. A north Indian may not have rice and a south Indian may not have roti.

  • Since you are a nutritionist, do your family and acquaintance use this to their benefit?

    Yes of course. That's what knowledge is all about , you share to keep it growing. You also get to learn as well. Its ideally two way.

  • Who has been your mentor through the journey of nutrition?

    There is no mentor as such whom I follow. I mostly believe that people who are practicing are the preachers and those people are to be cherished as the can teach you both theoretical and practical.

  • Is it important to completely rule out sugar from the diet?

    Hii, removing sugar from diet is not advisable. The invisible sugars like carbs are needed to maintain glucose levels in body. But for that carvs to work you needs visible sugars like jaggery, honey etc

  • Are online blogs and vlogs a good source of learning nutritional science?

    Hi, yes but do know your experts well before trusting them with thorough knowledge.

  • What course should an aspiring nutritionist sign up to become a professional?

    A professional nutritionist needs to be a graduate in nutrition or dietetics and also having a PG. Along with educational knowledge, experience too is required. This feel needs practice and experience.

  • What are the good sources of protein for vegetarians?

    Hi, vegetarian protein options include pulses, milk products, dals, legumes, soya products.

  • How do you see your job evolving in the future?

    More than the job is me evolving in my field as a nutritionist. Whether I'm an employee or the owner, I myself need to be equipped enough to outreach the knowledge of nutrition and to better the lives of people.

  • What's the advice you would like to give to an aspiring nutritionist?

    Well my advise is to be continuous. Get exposed to each and everything , don't stay limited to one thing. Nutrition is very vast. Grasping is your best key.

  • How was your experience with your first job?

    The experience was great. I got to learn a lot, starting from consultation to explaination, application, analysis, execution etc. Work in and with team. Become independent and responsible Nutritionist.

  • How has your job evolved over the years?

    I was first a fresher, center nutritionist, a trainer, senior nutritionist, Nutrigenomic Counselor, Content Writer and finally an Auditor. These stages took place in the course of 7 years.

  • What is your biggest concern at your job? How do you manage it?

    My biggest concern still is time. Being a consultant , it consumes time as people need you. The whole day gets occupied and very little time is left for family, friends and self. II've learnt to manage it. I work hard of weekdays, Saturdays for family and Sinday for friends and myself. Balance between personal and professional life is very important.

  • How did you rise in your role as a nutritionist, what career hacks can you share?

    If you are a fresher in this field you need to spend time in professional growth. Work hard for 3 years and you will be set. In these 3 years, expand your circle, attend workshops, seminars, consult, write, take the good use of social media, educate. The growth not only has to be professional but also personal. As people will see your behaviour first, that's your first edication.

  • What are the 3 things every successful nutritionist must-have?

    1- Self confidence, 2-Facts checked before placing, 3- the ability for application and result delivery

  • Is it necessary to have a keen interest in cooking to become a nutritionist?

    No not necessary. I myself dint know how to cook before entering this field. Nutrition involves the science behind each food, and this knowledge shall help you to become a good cook later in life.

  • What are the foods that one should consume for healthy skin and hair?

    Food for healthier skin and hair are proteins like milk products, soya products, pulses, dals( mostly vegetarian) in combination with nuts, yellow and orange colour fruits and vegetables. Along with foods, good sleep and water intake is also essential.

  • What was the most challenging moment in your career?

    Most Challenging Moment- When I alone had to put myself up as a nutritionist and make my name within the horizon.

  • What motivated you to choose this career?

    My mom used to practice Ayurveda and nutrition, she was more keen into it, that's when I realized the power of nutrition and forged towards it.

  • What food should and should not be consumed during pregnancy?

    Let's start with foods to be avoided during pregnancy-Alcohol, Caffeine, Processed and Packaged Foods, Fish having high mercury level, Papaya or warm foods,uncooked foods etc. Apart from these which are of prime importance rest all foods can be taken but in moderation. Everything less or in excess is not good.

  • Describe a typical day at work for you?

    Well, I start my day by consulting clients (face to face, video call or telephonically ) take their recall, understand their issues, give them solutions for the same, prepare new diet plans according to their lifestyle, recall, Gene's and explain them. Follow up with the results.

  • What role did your educational background play in your career?

    Actually it played a great role. Without proper education if nutrition as a science it's very difficult to inculcate the knowledge within you and to the world. It made myself prepare in dealing with various aspects of nutrition and health. I could include my knowledge in practical life. Along with knowledge application is more important.

  • Which is healthier to consume olive oil or coconut oil?

    I would definitely recommend Olive oil. Even coconut oil will do since it's easy digestible, but do high in saturated fats.

  • Should one opt for yoga and exercising or going to the gym to remain fit?

    Yoga helps to increase your oxygen capacity and making you flexible, while exercising helps you to stay fit as it keeps your body fat in control. Gyming is for people who manage to fit it in routine. If you have a routine life, gym best choice.
